The Yale School of Art is a prestigious institution, renowned for pushing boundaries in contemporary art. I choose to redesign this because I want to try to reflect their creative and innovative spirit.
Redesign the Yale School of Art website to improve usability, visual appeal, and user interaction. The project focuses on learning the UI design process through research and applying visual and interactive design principles.
I begin by conducting an in-depth analysis of the Yale School of Art’s website. I examine all components—including navigation, sitemap, personas to overall functionality. The research helps me identify key pain points, strengths, and areas that need improvement.
I began by analyzing and refining the existing branding elements of the Yale School of Art to create a cohesive visual identity for the redesigned website. For visual research, I chose high-contrast colors, diverse textures, brutalist design, bold typography, and contemporary, unconventional ideas to enhance the site's artistic spirit.
Detailed user personas were created to represent the audience, guiding design decisions to meet diverse user needs.
The process began with creating wireframes for the app, covering all three screen sizes: desktop, tablet, and mobile. Next, I designed components in various stages and sizes for all screen sizes.
In the mid-fidelity phase, I experimented with adding color and website content on the desktop size, while finalizing the layout.
In the high-fidelity phase, I finalized all microinteractions, added background animations to emphasize the artistic spirit, linked all pages, and completed the entire design.
