Saigonese Food Gang captures the "street" vibe, highlighting the illustrated objects - street food.The basic color tones include yellow, blue, red and green. Yellow and red are the two colors of the Vietnamese, a recurrent theme in many artworks. The color tones are flamboyant and eye-catching to the viewers.ClassiqueSaigon is used within the illustration - a popular font featuring the vibes of shops’ billboards of the vintage Saigon.The way the illustrations are presented is modern with simple outlines, exhibiting modern features yet maintaining the aesthetics of Saigon.
This project displays my love for Vietnamese cuisine, especially street food. Vietnamese snacks, Saigon in particular, possess the traditional beauty of Vietnamese culture. This project aims to create stickers so that I will be reminded of Vietnamese food and the country Vietnam wherever I go and stick them on. Moreover, this project will be a gift for my future roommates, introducing Vietnamese cuisine to the world.
